Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications and under the day-to-day supervision of the Team Lead (Web Developer / New Media Designer), the Web Information Officer is responsible for keeping the content of the University web sites for Peterborough and Oshawa and Intranet portal fresh, current, and accurate by editing and formatting written and visual content with a mind to the University’s key target audiences and new media applications.
Under the External Relations and Advancement portfolio, the position is responsive to a broad range of internal University clients and strategic priorities. The position emphasizes a strong customer service orientation, communications, messaging, knowledge of digital photography/video, design, programming and content management skills.
The Web Information Officer is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the photo/video database and will support University events coordinated by, and day-to-day functions within, the Marketing & Communications Office. The position works to deadlines, involves multi-tasking and collaborating with the University’s I.T. Department.
