I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Informatics and Computing, a core faculty of Cognitive Science program, a co-director of Web Science Lab and a fellow of Rob Kling Center for Social Informatics at Indiana University, Bloomington.
My research combines theoretical, mathematical, statistical and computational approaches to study how modern scientific disciplines/fields form, organize and develop. I teach courses on information architecture, information networks, representation and organization, and design of controlled vocabularies.
I am a co-founder (with Cassidy R. Sugimoto) and past chair of ASIST SIG METRICS. I serve on editorial board of Scientometrics. I received my PhD in Information Studies at University of California, Los Angeles.
