Biography

Dr. Javed Mostafa's research focuses on improving human-computer interaction, with specific emphasis on information retrieval and adaptive interaction. Dr. Mostafa's undergraduate degree is in computer science. He completed a Ph.D. in information science in 1994 at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to his appointment as an associate professor at the School of Library and Information Science, he has faculty affiliations with the School of Informatics (IUB), Cognitive Science Program (IUB) and Computer & Information Science Department (IUPUI). Currently, Dr. Mostafa holds the Victor H. Yngve Endowed Professorship in Information Science (IUB). He is also the director of the Laboratory of Applied Informatics Research (IUB).
