Accreditation

Accredited by the American Library Association

Master of Library Science (M.L.S.) and Master of Information Science (M.I.S.) programs in the Department of Information and Library Science (ILS), which is part of the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington, are accredited by the American Library Association Committee on Accreditation, with the status of Continued Accreditation. 

The most recent review took place in Spring 2019. The next comprehensive review visit is scheduled for Spring 2027.

How we assess our programs

As part of our ongoing accreditation, we assess the M.L.S. and M.I.S. degrees annually in a variety of areas, including recruitment, retention, graduation, and placement.
