Sarah Carter is the director of the art librarianship dual-degree program and specialization at Indiana University. Her research interests span across access services, information literacy, and outreach. Carter's particular focus is on research needs of practicing studio artists and studio art undergraduates.
Carter's long record of service with the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) includes serving as a member of the professional development committee, chair of the mentoring subcommittee, chair of strategic directions committee, an education liaison to the executive board. She presents at national conferences and has attended ARLIS/NA study tours of Russia and Cuba.
